The Member of Parliament for Bunkpurugu Abed-Nego Lamangin Bandim has noted that the Local Government and Rural Development Committee’s hearing is a very useful exercise as the Committee uses the exercise to assess what is happening on the grounds at the local level.

The Committee concludes its hearing of internal audit report 2023 to 2024 on Friday, October 10, 2025 as the Upper West, East and Savannah Regions take their turn.

In an interview, the Bunkpurugu MP noted that as far as development is concerned, they are able to get that information and when next the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) appear before the Committee on the 2025 internal audit report the committee would be able to find out what they said before them if they have been able to implement them.

Meanwhile, in a related development, chairperson of the Committee Queenstar Pokua Sawyerr in an interview revealed that within a week the Committee would be done with its report for onward transmission to the plenary.

And further added that places where they have issues as a committee, they would be visiting.
