As Parliament contemplates on maintaining the afternoon sitting hours or reverting back to morning plenary session, the Wa East Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Godfred Jasaw Seidu says it’s a tricky one because there are good reasons for choosing the afternoon sitting that give lawmakers the opportunity to do other things like lobby for development for their constituencies and other very import works. Then two o’clock they can continue with their full work either at the plenary or at the Committee level.

The House reverted to the afternoon sitting during the second meeting when MPs raised the issues.

I am more for the afternoon 2:00pm sitting, and I am hoping everybody would support, he noted in an interview.

The issue has become topical to the extent of finding its way onto the business statement. At the conclusion on sitting on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the business statement was adopted, and the first deputy speaker Bernard Ahiafor urged the leadership to engage more to bring a conclusion to the matter but the House would convene at the usual 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
