Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Bawku Central Mahama Ayariga has condemned the military brutality in his constituency and destruction of the statue of the Zugran of the Kusaug Traditional Area Asigri Abugrago Azoka II by some military personnel.
He demanded immediate investigation by the senior hierarchy of the military.
In a statement, he equally condemned the violent gun attacks by unknown youth on the vehicle escorted by soldiers indicating that further attacks must cease.
“I however appeal to the Kusasis youth to calm down as Government takes urgent steps to investigate the infiltrations into the ranks of the military by elements who seek to politicize and further destabilize the situation in Bawku”.
He further expressed his condolences to the families of the bereaved and those who have suffered military brutalities as a result of yesterday’s unfortunate and deadly incidents.
