Member of Parliament for Lower Manya-Krobo constituency, Michael Teye Nyaunu has described as immature and wishful thinking, claims by some NPP youth in his constituency that he is likely to defect to the opposition NPP.

According to the NPP youth organiser in the constituency, Aaron Amartei-Amartey, he has observed that Mr. Nyaunu speaks and acts the ideologies of the NPP, and will not be surprised if Mr. Nyaunu joins them in the near future.

Reacting to the reports on Citi Fm, Mr. Nyaunu laughed at the claims and re-affirmed his beliefs and ideologies of the NDC.

He added that his support for Nana Konadu’s bid remains unfettered indicating that “i will never go to the NPP i promise them. i have been trained by NDC, brought up by NDC and i have been practicing my trade in NDC.

“We are fundamentally opposed in the sense that they believe in property owning democracy, i believe in social democracy where i recognise that the fingers are not the same and accordingly, one must speak for another and we must be helping each other to get along in this journey called life.

“Therefore what they are saying is immaturity. I am never going to join the NPP, i am not going to defect.

If they have been very observant they would realise that i have just been objective in my utterances and that is all but if that is what they are wishing, tell them beggar’s would be riding”.
