The Member of Parliament for the Nabdam constituency, Boniface Agambilla has donated at least 100 bags of cement towards a constructional project being undertaken to reshape and put up the Sakoti ceremonial grounds in the Nabdam district.
The 100 bags of cement was purposely donated to support the Paramount Chief and the people of Sakoti Traditional area to facilitate the construction of pavements at the ceremonial grounds in honour of this years’ celebration of Tenglegre annual festival.
Interacting with Ghanamps.gov.gh, the MP noted that the festival which comes off November, each year was a major programme set to always bring together people from the area in celebration, and therefore required special preparations to make it a colourful and grand programme.
He claimed works on that project has been started and progressing steadily at Sakoti.
Meanwhile, the Nabdam legislator has also advanced a sum of GHS 30,000 from his share of the Common Fund for the 1st and 2nd quarters for 2013 to support the construction of the Logre dam.
The project is a World Bank Labour Intensive Social Intervention, designed to benefit the economic lives of locals in the area.
The World Bank funded programme engages the people of the area, especially the youth specifically in labour so that they could get paid to improve their lots.
According to the MP, the money injected into the project is meant to cater for the payment of labour, because of the delay in funding by the World Bank, but was quick to add that he would later be reimbursed when the Bank finally releases monies.
