The Minority in Ghana’s Parliament has appealed to President Nana Akufo-Addo to consider naming the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration after the late former United Nations (UN) boss Kofi Annan.

According to the Minority it would fall in line with the Office of the President located in the Jubilee House.
This was made known in a release signed by the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu and Ranking member for Foreign Affairs Committee Samuel Okudzato Ablakwa.

The Minority further made a point by pointing out that the United States Department of State is located in the Harry S. Truman building same as South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation is house in the Oliver Reginald K. Tambo building.

The statement further added that it is the considered view of the Minority that Kofi Annan the exceptional diplomat, who has earned unanimous international acclaim had brought honor to Ghana.

“We believe this important gesture, no matter how small, when compared to the towering impact of Kofi Annan on the global stage will help immortalize his memory and inspire generators unborn to emulate his noble qualities”.
