The Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) South, Nana Akomea has stated emphatically that the NPP’s campaign strategy for the December general election would not change substantially following the nomination of President John Mahama as the Presidential candidate of the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC)for this year’s election.

He said there would not be the need for a change in strategy following the death of Ex President Prof. Atta Mills who until his demise was the NDC Presidential candidate since former Vice President and now President, John Mahama has been very instrumental in certain decisions taken for the state by the Mills Administration and cannot escape blame.

Following the death of Prof. Mills several discussions on media platforms had suggested a review of the opposition NPP’s campaign strategy as their main opponent had changed and is now in the person of President John Mahama.

However speaking on Joy FM’s News Analysis programe News File over the weekend, Hon.Nana Akomea who is also the Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South stated that the strategies initially mapped out against Late President Atta Mills will be very much applicable to President John Mahama since he was responsible for some of the failed deal like the STX Korean housing deal which never materialized.

He said President Mahama as a Communications Specialist is likely to do more media campaigns and the NPP is ready and well positioned to give him a run for his money.

Hon. Nana Akomea expressed confidence that the with the abysmal performance by the current NDC government, the effective campaign by the NPP coupled with its track record while in government will surely ensure the re-election of the NPP to continue the good works done by the Kufour Administration.
