The Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern region,Dr. Mark Asibey Yeboah, has commissioned a Pavement project and a security post at the Koforidua Poly Clinic.

The MP also donated medical equipments to be shared to all CHPS Compounds in the constituency, all funded through his share of the National Health Insurance Scheme Fund.

According to the MP, a total of ghc203,000 was allocated to him as his share of  National Health Insurance Fund for the four year period.

He said, the Fund has been used to execute several projects under the health sector in the Municipality to improve upon healthcare delivery.

However, Dr. Mark Asibey Yeboah has slammed President John Mahama led government for collapsing NHIS initiated by Ex- President Kuffuor to provide free healthcare for Ghanaians.

He explained that, the situation has partially restored cash and carry system. He stated that, many ailments are no more covered by the scheme, while health facilities across the country are reluctant to administer services to beneficiaries of the scheme due to non-payment of claims.

Dr. Asibey Yeboah, assured Ghanaians that Akufo Addo led government will revive the scheme to effectively work again.

Meanwhile, the New Juaben Municipal Health Director, Dr.Kwaku Seneya in an interview with kasapa News mentioned delay in payment of claims by the NHIA and inadequate staff to help  deliver quality healthcare for residents as some of he pressing challenges of the Poly Clinic and health in the Municipality as a whole.

He commended the MP for the intervention in fixing other infrastructure challenges of the facility.
