The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Nkwanta North, Joseph Kwaku Nayan has expressed confidence of retaining his seat by winning with a margin of over 3,000 votes in the upcoming 2012 election.

He said as the only NPP MP out of the 22 MPs in the Volta Region he is poised and committed to preserving his seat for currently the largest opposition party in the country.

Speaking to Ghanamps.gov.gh, Hon Joseph Nayan stated that he together with his campaign team have resolved to keep the Nkwanta North seat for the NPP by campaigning feverishly and selling his vision to the electorates to buy into it and vote him to continue with his good works in the constituency.

He said the ruling NDC party has tried severally to sweep all the parliamentary seats in the region including the Nkwanta North seat but added that he remained resolute in his determination to reclaim his seat.

Hon. Nayan indicated that he has worked hard to provide the constituency with basic social amenities and infrastructure such as roads, schools, markets among others, a situation he asserted was not the case when the area fell under the Nkwanta District in 2004.

He noted that his efficient work as the MP for the area in the past years has endeared him to the electorates who have also resolved to retain in power.
