Honorable Frank Annoh Dompreh, Member of Parliament for Nsawam/Adoagyiri Constituency has expressed worry at the falling standard of education in the area and his determination to help improve the situation.

According to the MP, though the situation can be attributed to a number of factors, they believe inadequate teachers to attend to students is one area that should be given maximum attention.

Mr. Annoh Dompreh has therefore instituted measures to get teaching assistants to augment the efforts of teachers as well as help those schools under staff to be assisted.

The teaching assistant scheme to be launched by June/July will engage university students from the area during vacations. They will then be posted to their alma mater to teach. The MP indicated that consultations have already gone on with educational authorities to bring the project on board.

Ten thousand Ghana cedis (GHs10, 000.00) seed money has been set aside while efforts are being made to solicit assistance from other stakeholders for its sustainability.
