The honorable Member of Parliament for the Odododiodioo in the Greater Accra region, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has vowed of his readiness to sacrifice his Parliamentary seat to salvage the demolished Old Parliament House by the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) without the knowledge of all stakeholders.
The MP who described the demolition as unfortunate was shocked that stakeholders like he whose constituency hosts the edifice was not consulted.
“I am scandalized, I am annoyed, I am seriously outraged by this news, I think as a stakeholder, if anything of the sort is to be taken, I should be consulted” he said.
The MP hinted of his intention to file a question to the Speaker when Parliament resumes to find answers on why parts of the building was pulled down.
He vowed to go every length including putting his Parliamentary seat on the line to ensure that the right answers are provided on why parts of the historic edifice was demolished by Cymain Ghana Limited that was contracted for the purpose.
The demolished structure accommodated Ghana’s legislators from the era of Dr Kwame Nkrumah till 1981.
