The Member of Parliament for Okere, Dan Kweku Botwe, has suggested the setting up of a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) to financially cater for public officers who resign their position on the basis of principle and conviction.

According to the MP, the absence of such an outfit makes it difficult for public officials who are compelled by their political superiors to do things against their principle resign honorably, because they will not have any means of livelihood after they leave office.

Speaking on Peace fm’s morning show yesterday, Hon. Dan Botwe stressed the need for public servants to be encouraged to resign their positions when they realize certain decisions ‘’forced down their throats’’ violates their principles.

‘’ It is important that we have in this country, public servants who can boldly say no to their political heads and resign their positions and not fear the consequences’’, he said.

Dan Botwe believes such a daring act will help in the promotion of good governance in the country.
