Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong, has said that the failure of the immediate past New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives to retain their seats is clear indication that the party does not countenance corruption.

He noted that the delegates voted unanimously against the corrupt leaders whose actions and inactions caused the party its two electoral defeats in the year 2008 and 2012.

The firebrand MP prior to the National Delegates Conference held in Tamale over the weekend was on a campaign calling on all delegates to vote out the old executives seeking re-election, with the reason that they misapplied party funds and logistics meant to prosecute electioneering campaigns.

He described the now former executives as corrupt and a bunch of greedy people whose interest is to siphon the party’s resources for their parochial interest.

The largest opposition party at the conference elected a new set of national executional with only the Women’s Organizer Otiko Afisa Dzaba retaining her position.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem programme Monday, Hon. Kennedy Agyepong expressed confidence in the new crop of executives’ ability to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) led government and further pledged his support to the team to realise the party’s aspiration.

The NPP Financier who threatened to form his own political party voting a whopping US $20 million should the immediate past party Chairman Jake Obestebi Lamptey retain his seat said, he would now channel that money to the 2016 electioneering campaign.

Hon. Kennedy Agyepong urged the supposed factions within the party to unite for victory at the 2016 polls which the party so earnestly wants to win.

He described the now former executives as corrupt and a bunch of greedy people whose interest is to siphon the party’s resources for their parochial interest.

The newly elected executives are Paul Afoko, Chairman; Freddy Blay, Sammy Crabbe and F.F. Antoh, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Vice Chairmen respectively; Kwabena Agyepong, General Secretary; John Boadu, National Organiser; Otiko Djaba, Women’s Organiser; Sammy Awuku, Youth Organiser; Kwabena Abankwa Yeboah, Treasurer; and Kamal Deen Abdulai, National NASARA Coordinator.
