Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu has served notice to the House that his side would not allow Ministers to delay workings of the House considering the crucial time they are in hence the need to prioritize Government Business before the House.
According to him, among the Akufo-Addo Ministers, it is only the learned Attorney General and Minister of Justice Gloria Akufo, who writes to him that in a meeting Bills she considers urgent to be considered.
Responding to the Business Statement presented on the floor of the House by the Majority Leader, he drew the House’s attention to the fact that time is of importance, and MPs are under pressure because they have to shuttle between parliament and their constituency.
“I have to take turn with the Deputy Minority leader, James Klutse Avedzi when he is in the chamber, I am in my constituency and the other way round”.
He supported the Majority Leader on his point that Monday, October 26, 2020 the House should meet to deal with some Legislative Instrument before the House that needs to mature looking at critical time the House is in ahead of this year’s elections.
Mr. Osei -Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu in his response to the Busines Statement he presented noted that at the start of the meeting there were sixty Bills and after further deliberations it has been reduced to eleven.
He further revealed that along the line other Bills that had come on board are Ghana Ambulances Bill and Private Public Partnership Bill.
