The Parliament of Ghana has adjourned sine die after two months of active work.
The second meeting of the first session of the ninth Parliament ended on Friday, August 1, 2025, with the Rt. Hon Speaker recounting work done by the House.
Among the highlights of the meeting was the Minister for Finance presenting the Mid- Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy for the 2025 financial year during which he outlined a five-point strategy aimed at curbing inflation and stabilising the economy through prudent fiscal management, targeted agricultural investment, improved monetary coordination and enhanced utility pricing mechanisms.
The Speaker also recounted that the House successfully vetted and approved the nomination of seven (7) Justices to the Supreme Court and four (4) Deputy Ministers of State, fulfilling our constitutional mandate under Article 144 of the 1992 Constitution.
He commended the Appointment Committee for its professionalism and the House for its vigilance.
Meanwhile, during the period under review, four hundred and ninety-seven (497) Questions were admitted and processed. Out of these, two hundred and ninety-seven (297) were asked and answered. They comprised two hundred and forty-two (242) oral questions and fifty-five (55) urgent questions. This reflects the deep commitment to ensuring accountability, transparency and responsiveness from the Executive, he noted.
Bills Presented
During the course of the Meeting, thirteen (13) Bills were presented, out of which eight (8) were passed, one (1) at consideration stage, two (2) at committee level and two (2) rescinded. These include the following:

The House, in accordance with Article 75, 181 and 268 of the 1992 Constitution
(where applicable) considered and approved by resolution the following:
i. Membership of the Pan-African Parliament;
ii. Membership of the ECOWAS Parliament;
iii. Seven (7) treaties, protocols and conventions;
iv. Two (2) Financial Agreements;
v. Five (5) Mining Leases; and
vi. One hundred and thirty-one (131) Timber Utilization Contracts.
8. Approval of Disbursement Formula
The House considered and approved the 2025 National Health Insurance Fund
Formula.
