The Ranking Member on the Select Committee on Employment Mavis Nkansah-Boadu has said the John Dramani Mahama’s government flagship programme, the 24-Hour economy would receive the needed support from the committee and parliament.

According to the Afigya Sekyere East lawmaker, they consider that unemployment has been a problem in the country hitting double digit unemployment rate among the youth.

“I am happy that the 24- Hour economy has not just been a campaign promise but also being implemented. I believe this is a new era for the nation and we are not going to be politicizing this; it is going to be a collaborative effort because it is going to benefit the whole nation especially for the younger generation”.

She disclosed this in her remarks when the 24-Hour Economy outfit called on the Speaker Rt. Hon Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin.

She pointed out that for the implementation stage, MPs have been remembered as MPs oversee their constituencies and they account to their constituents. So, if its starting from parliament, it’s good news and she believes they are all going to support and ensure its success for the benefit of Ghanaians.
