Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery has disclosed that henceforth Police officers would be deployed to guard all major hospitals in the country to protect lives and properties against illegal attacks.
According to him it is crucial to protect hospital staffs who deliver healthcare service for the benefit of the masses.

Mr Dery’s declaration follows a growing spate of impunity by party foot soldiers evident in the recent attack on the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

The Minister assured that government through the security agencies especially the police will remain consistent in the prosecution of people who take the law into their own hands and that no one will be allowed to interfere in the justice delivery process.

“And what is more important is that we are going to make sure that we deploy police at the big hospitals and in fact as much as possible into all hospitals…” the Minister assured.
