The Member of Parliament for Okere, Dan Kweku Botwe has said that President Attah Mills has demonstrated a high level of hypocrisy by causing an investigation into an allegation that his campaign team plans to use about Gh¢ 90 million to fund his campaign for flag bearer of the NDC.

According to him, President Attah Mills must be concerned about all security issues and not be selective in asking for investigations into only matters that have the potential of injuring his reputation.

Mr Herbert Mensah, a close associate of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings on Tuesday alleged on radio that President Mills’ campaign team plans to use about Gh¢ 90 million to fund his campaign for flag bearer of the NDC during the upcoming congress in July.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem programme, Mr. Mensah said he and former President Rawlings discovered the information from security tapes obtained from the Castle.

President Attah Mills who expressed surprise at the rumour has however dismissed the allegation with utmost contempt, and also directed the security agencies to thoroughly investigate the issue and bring the truth to light.

However speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show on Thursday 12th May, the Member of Parliament for Okere, Dan Botwe accused President Attah Mills of not being principled.

He wondered why President Attah Mills has never issued investigations into allegation of some NPP former ministers having huge sums of monies in their accounts in Prudential Bank, which at the time was even more than Ghana’s internal reserve at the Bank of Ghana at that time.

“Have you ever heard President Mills issuing an investigation into that allegation?, he was here in Ghana, he heard all those issues but because it inured to his benefit he kept quiet and has never probed that issue till now, how hypocritical ’’ he asked.

Hon. Dan Botwe however called on Mr Herbert Mensah to prove his case by tendering the alleged tape if he indeed has it.
