Member of Parliament for Tamale Central Inusah Abdallah Fuseini has taken a swipe at the President Nana Akufo-Addo for being behind revocation of Exton Cubic Group Limited’s exploration license for bauxite in the Tano Offin forest reserve.
He further noted that, the Minister Peter Amewu was only given orders by the President to carry out what he did, “I am very sad it is just evoking memories of partisanship and discrimination”, he said.
Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Peter Amewu explained that the directives was issued because the company’s three mining leases were invalid.
The former Lands and Natural Resources Minister noted that with some of the reasons cited by the sector Minister for revocation, example, the mining lease lucking Parliamentary ratification, then all leases not ratified since 2000 should be brought back to Parliament.
“You do not treat people like that this is a Ghanaian indigenous company, this is discriminatory and government is aware of options that are open to Exton Cubic” he said.
According to the Tamale Central MP, this is a deliberate attempt by government to revoke the lease “we saw this drama unfold especially when the Vice President returned from China” many things have happened at the minerals commission we are leaving in very strange times.
