Member of Parliament for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak as dismissed assertion that if former President John Mahama wins the flagbearership race he should choose his running mate among his contenders.
According to the Kumbungu lawmaker presidential candidates all over the world chose someone they are comfortable with as their running mate.
His remarks comes in the wake of some party members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) calling for the former President who they believe would win the flagbearership race to pick among his contenders who would have market themselves after the flagbearership race.
They believe if the former President wins the 2020 election he can be president for only one term and the party would need a well marketable person to win the 2024 Presidential election.
Mr. Ras Mubarak backed his point by saying I 2008 when the former President of the United States Obama worn his party’s flagbearership race he did not pick Hilary Clinton who gave him a close contest as his running mate.
