The Suame Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region received great commendation from the Local Government and Rural Development Committee when they appeared before the Committee during its public hearing
The Chairperson of the Committee was impressed that the Assembly was without infractions which rarely happens and attests to the commitment of leadership at the assembly to do the right thing.
In view of this, the Chairperson, Queenstar Pokuah Sawyerr has recommended that the Municipal Chief Executive collaborates with the Ashanti Regional Minister to write to the Local Government Minister to ensure the Municipal Coordinating Director, Johnson Nyarko who announced his transfer to a new Assembly is retained to ensure continuity.
According to her, the cordial working relationship between the two is worth celebrating and should not be truncated with the transfer, so they should put in words for him to the appropriate quarters to have him continue his work at Suame.
Addressing the media after their time with the Committee, the Municipal Coordinating Director, ..,..welcome the recommendation stating that it boosts his confidence to deliver more, but adds that he is ready to serve anywhere he is sent to.
But with just two years left for him to retire, it would be welcome news to end his service at Suame where he is currently serving.
