For the Salaga South Member of Parliament, Adam Salifu Braimah, occasions as Eid al-Adha should serve as fertile moments for Muslims to crave for peaceful coexistence with each other and a period to encourage religious tolerance to promote unity.
According to him, the spirit of unity is very important not only for the preservation of lives and property but also for smooth economic and social activities to go on in every community.
He was thus very happy that the people despite a near mar of the occasion following some misunderstanding among the people, they were able to overcome the storm and celebrated the festival in peace.Speaking to Ghanamps.com, the MP who himself joined the people for prayers and merry making believe they will have to appreciate each other’s views on issues particularly those that borders on development and welfare of the larger society in order to witness accelerated development.
He urged his people to use dialogue in addressing issues so that at all times cool heads will prevail in all matters in the constituency.
To make the occasion memorable and ensure as many people have enough to eat, the MP presented 2 rams and bags of rice for the celebration.
Eid al-Adha, “Sacrifice Feast”, is the second of two Muslim holidays celebrated by Muslims across the world to commemorate the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son, as an act of obedience to God’s command.
