
Mr. Kofi Bentil Afful, the Member of Parliament of Sefwi- Wiawso Constituency, has donated fertilizer to more than 378 rice farmers to help improve production in the constituency.
The Member of Parliament, who personally distributed the fertilizer free of charge to the beneficiaries, said the gesture was to help increase rice farming in the municipality.
Mr. Afful assured the beneficiaries that he would continue to support them regardless of their political affiliation with more farm input.
He said the beneficiaries would later receive free rice seeds to boost rice farming.
Mr. Afful said the initiative was to support farmers in the municipality in line with the government efforts to ensure food security and economic growth.
He emphasized that after winning the Parliamentary seat, he had been on top of his campaign promises, especially in agriculture, for the betterment of the lives of the people in his constituency.
He advised the farmers to adjust their farming activities to meet the increasing climate change conditions in order to produce more to ensure food security.
Mr. Emmanuel Nsiah, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the MP for the kind gesture and promised to use the fertilizer to improve yields.
