Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, has recalled the House from recess for an emergency sitting to conduct urgent state business.

The recall is scheduled for five days, from Monday, August 24, to Friday, August 28, 2026, with proceedings commencing at midday each day. The directive is in accordance with Order 58(4) of the Standing Orders of Parliament and was contained in an official press statement.

Checks by Ghanamps.com indicate that the House is likely to consider the approval of Supreme Court and Ministerial nominees during the session. Additionally, Parliament is expected to address proposed amendments to the anti-LGBTQ+ bill, as well as deliberate on key financial transactions.
