Over two hundred students in the Suhum Constituency have benefited from educational scholarship provided by the Member of Parliament for the area, Frederick Opare-Ansah.

The package which mostly involved payment of school fees and admission fees was spread among students at various levels from senior high to tertiary levels.

Speaking to Ghanamps.gov.gh, Opare-Ansah underscored the need to attach much attention to human resource development with special reference to ensuring that children are provided with quality education that will make them productive to society. He said the only way to improve literacy rate and raise standard of education is to invest in the education sector to give more children the opportunity to access formal education.

Unfortunately, financial constrains have shut the dreams of many young ones; and this is what motivated him to channel some of the resources to helping brilliant but needy children in the constituency through education. He noted that the programme is ongoing and hopes more children will be given the chance.
