The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential candidate in the 2012 election, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumiah will do himself a great deal of service if he concentrates on his banking carrier where his expertise lies rather than doing politics.

According to him, Dr. Bawumiah can best be described as a near disaster when it comes to politics as he has woefully failed to make any impact since he became the vice presidential candidate of the largest opposition party in both the 2008 and 2012 elections.

He made the point on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show on Tuesday, while commenting on the appointment of Dr Mahamadu Bawumiah as the Head of the Uganda Office of the African Development Bank (AFDB).

The appointment was made last month and effective April 1, but according to AFDB policy, each staff is entitled to take special leave of absence.

He will co-ordinate and supervise the operations of the Bank in the country office for great portfolio efficiency and visibility on the ground.

Hon. Inusah Fuseini stated that Dr. Bawumia by his application for the new job exposes him as someone who loves his banking carrier than politics, adding that his poor showing at the ongoing election petition at the Supreme Court is evident that he’s not a good politician.

He added that though Dr. Bawumiah has failed to deliver as a politician, he is noted to be a fine Economist and Banker who has done a good job in his earlier international engagement in Zimbabwe and will hopefully deliver once small in Uganda.
