The office of the Member of Parliament for Wa East has opened application for students under the Wa East Constituency Tertiary Educational Support Scheme (WESTESS).
With Application deadline set at September 30, 2025, applicants have to work to beat this timeline to be able to benefit from the support system.
The Wa East Constituency Tertiary Educational Support Scheme (WESTESS) is an educational initiative established by the Honourable Member of Parliament for Wa East Constituency, Dr, Godfred Seidu Jasaw during his first term in office.
The program offers both financial and other educational support to brilliant but needy students from Wa East Constituency in various public tertiary institutions in Ghana.
This initiative represents a significant investment in the future of Wa East’s youth and reiterates the MP’s unwavering commitment towards human resource development and educational advancement within the Wa East Constituency.
WESTESS, established by the MP for Wa East Constituency, Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw has expanded in scope and depth to better serve the educational needs of the Wa East Constituency by positioning the scheme in direct alignment with the government’s ‘No Fees Stress Policy’.
The programme offers two support systems, namely ‘Full Fees Coverage’, and ‘Partial Fee Support’:
Full Fees Coverage
These include students who are enrolled in specialized programs from second year till completion:
* Medicine
* Law
* Nursing/Midwifery
* Physician Assistanthip
* Engineering
* Computer Science
* Laboratory Technology
Partial Fees Support
Students pursuing other academic disciplines will receive financial assistance for partial fees from second year till completion.
Meanwhile, interested students are required to provide the following
* An application letter which include contact details of beneficiaries and /or guardians
* Certified photocopy of admission letter from an accredited public tertiary institution
* Copy of Ghana Card
* Current year fee schedule
*Disclosure of any other scholarship details you are benefiting from
