The West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP) has conferred a Fellow of Post Graduate College of Pharmacy (FPC) on Hon. Joseph Yieleh Chireh for his exemplary public and professional service to Ghana and West Africa.

The Fellow is in recognition of his distinguished public and private service, especially in his unblemished political and professional career spanning several years which has brought honor to the pharmacy profession.

By this conferment, Hon. Josepth Yieleh Chireh can prefix his name with the prestigious acronym ‘FPC Pharm’. The conferment ceremony took place during the 24th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Symposium of College held in Banjul, The Gambia from the 12 to the 17 of March 2012.

In a statement, WAPCP stated that the Council elected Mr. Chireh in acknowledgment of his exceptional and admirable service, dedication and support to The West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists.

The statement added that “in spite of his high profile positions, vast experience and busy schedule as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa West, Former Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Immediate past Health Minister, Hon. Chireh continued to actively associate with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) and to support its programmes and activities.”

Pharm. Josepth Yieleh Chireh, a Lawyer and the first Upper West Regional Minister was also involve in the Consultative Assembly that drafted the 1992 Fourth Republican Constitution.
