Contract has been awarded to grade the gravel surfaces and repair soft spots on the Zabzugu-Tatale road under the 2014 maintenance programme.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Roads and highways, Sulemani Amidu Amin in parliament on Friday when he appeared before the house to answer questions relating to his ministry.
The Minister in responds to a question posed to him by the Member of Parliament for Tatale/Sanguli, Mr. James Cecil Yanwube on government’s plan on the Zabzugu Town road through Tatale Town also stated that the 21.6 kilometer road is in fair condition following the construction of culverts in 2013 under the same maintenance programme.
He said the GHs164, 680.23 maintenance works when completed would bring significant relief to commuters on that stretch of the road.
The Minister however disclosed that engineering studies will be carried out on the road this year, and based on the outcome; the appropriate intervention will be implemented.
