Dan Botwe, the Member of Parliament for Okere has supported Asaman Nyamebekyere Electoral Area with one hundred and twenty cement bags and an amount of Gh¢500 to be used for the construction of a six unit classroom block and nurses quarters.
The classroom block would be situated in the Asukor Community to replace the old and dilapidated structure which has been there for years, while the nurses’ quarters would be sited at the Sikoko community.
These two projects are expected to boost education and help retain health workers in the communities for improved health delivery.
Mr. Albert Atta Heneku, the assemblyman for the electoral area commended the MP for his kind and generous gestures shown to the communities.
He said the structure was a burden to the community but now that a new building is in progress he believed it would boost up the enrolment of children in the school.
Mr. Albert Heneku stated that the community together with Parents Teachers Association (PTA) has contributed to an ongoing construction of an eight seater KVIP which would complement the classroom block for the school.
He further stated that the community has provided 1,200 cement blocks to facilitate the completion of these projects.
According to him the community is growing at a fast rate so there is the need for extension of electricity to some new communities. He added that Aboa Community needs kindergarten to prepare children for primary education.
He pleaded with government and the Assembly to construct a health post at Asaman that would serve Owiredu, Sareano, Ntronan, Asukor and Krobo Nkwanta. The Sikoko and Nitronan community he said needs JHS to ease the stress on children walking 7km to the nearest JHS.
