Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the people of Ablekuma North Constituency in the Greater Accra Region will know who their representative is at the legislature.
Voting has commenced across the 19 polling stations in the Constituency that the Electoral Commission is undertaking the re-run to complete the parliamentary election process which remained inconclusive since the December 7, 2024 general elections.
The competition is between the National Democratic Congress candidate Ewurabena Aubynn and the New Patriotic Party candidate Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie.
The 19 polling stations include South Odorkor4 and 5 School, Odorkor 3; Pentecost Church, Tweneboa 2; Light of Gospel Miracle Chapel, Tweneboa 2; MTTD Odorkor Divisional Station, Odorkor 1; Romam Catholic Church, Busia Junction, Odorkor 1, and Bethel Baptist Church Sakaman1.
Others are Lord’s Pentecostal Church, Kwashie Bu; Presby Church Odorkor4; Church of Pentecost North Odorkor 4. Methodist Church Odorkor 1, St. John Baptist Church Odorkor 1; Radiantway Preparatory School, and Ateco School Complex, Odorkor.

The 9th Parliament of the Fourth Republic has been operating without the full complement of 276 legislatures, as Ablekuma North never got the chance to be represented because of the unfortunate violent crush that disrupted collation and final declaration of the parliamentary results.
But for the unfortunate demise of the Member of Parliament for Akwatia, today’s election would have given parliament the 276 representatives.
Even though the New Patriotic Party (NPP) earlier announced they were not going to participate, their parliamentary candidate defied the orders and decided to contest after her attempt to injunct the EC from proceeding with the process of re-running the election in the 19 polling stations.
More than 6000 eligible voters are expected to cast their votes in today’s election.
