The violence that was witnessed in the just ended rerun of nineteen polling stations in the Ablekuma North has been condemned by the lawmaker for the Ashaiman constituency Dr. Ernest Henry Norgbey.

According to him he has since the incident been condemning it anytime he gets the opportunity on any platform as it was unfortunate development and a dent on the country’s democracy.

He further pointed out that the police officer’s conduct in slapping the journalist during the same exercise was a “no, no”, and should not be tolerated because when it happened in the previous administration led by President Nana Akufo Addo it was condemned.

The lawmaker also pointed out that in the process of the John Dramani Mahama Administration resting Ghana things like this should not be happening and would be the last under the administration of the president and under the watch of the Interior Minister.

He commended the swift intervention of the Ghana police administration for interdicting the police office in question. “Gone were the days that some of these things would be shelved; but in the case of the Ablekuma North the response was fast and it showed the reset agenda is on course.

Dr. Ernest Henry Norgbey further added that such violence should not repeat itself in the impending Akwatia bye elections.
