The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Ghana’s Parliament has concluded its public hearing on the Auditor-General’s report for the financial year ending 31st December 2024.

The hearing, which began on Monday, 12th January and ended on Tuesday, 13th January 2025, examined the audits of public boards, corporations, and other statutory institutions.

In her closing remarks, the Committee Chairperson, Abena Osei Asare, thanked the public for their engagement and positive feedback. She reiterated the Committee’s commitment to ensuring top-tier public financial management and pledged its continued adherence to the Public Financial Management Act.

She further stated that the PAC would support the Judiciary and the Executive in executing their mandates regarding the management of the nation’s public finances.

With the conclusion of these hearings, the Committee’s report will be presented to the full House when Parliament resumes for the second session of the ninth Parliament.

The Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, whose ministry was the last to appear before the Committee, thanked the PAC for its work. He urged agencies under his ministry to comply strictly with financial regulations to avoid being summoned for similar infractions in the future.
