The blunt talking National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya constituency, Michael Teye Nyaunu, has stated that the ruling party will be voted out of power during the upcoming December elections which promises to be keenly contested.

According to the MP, the apparent tension between the Ex President and founder of the NDC, Jerry John Rawlings, and the party plus President John Evans Atta Mills, is sure to affect the NDC’s chances in the elections if immediate action is not taken to resolve the issues that have generated the tension.

Speaking on Citii Eyes Witness News on Tuesday, Hon Nyaunu stated that the NDC party risk paying a huge and regrettable price if it decides to ignore the Rawlingses during the December election.

“President Mills’ administration is determined with those youthful exuberance out there that they can win power without Jerry John Rawlings faction,” Hon. Nyaunu said.

The “firebrand MP” comments follow the recent suspension of the NDC Deputy General Secretary Kofi Adams who also happens to be the Spokesperson for Former President Rawlings, a development that the Ex President has reacted to saying that the Mills-led government “is fast speeding the country into an abyss” and called for a national prayer to save the country.

Kofi Adams was last week suspended and had his membership of the party revoked following an alleged tape in which he’s reported to have in a conversation with known opposition party member Gabby Asare Otchere Darko that he’ll work to get President Mills out of power in the December polls.
