The Member of Parliament for Dormaa East, William Kwasi Sabi has successfully secured the construction of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) office for his constituency.

The project to be financed by the National Health Insurance Authority is currently at the advanced stage with site plan and other paper work completed. According to him, he has received assurance that the project will commence somewhere in August.

Dormaa East at present is without its own health insurance office and residents have to travel to other areas outside the constituency to register for the service. This was due to the fact that until the creation of the Dormaa East District, which was cut from Dormaa Municipal they had one NHIS administrative office. Unfortunately, the creation of the new district has rendered it without one.

Mr. Sabi said the effort is aimed at bringing NHIS services to the door steps of residents to give room to more people to register for the scheme. He thus called on residents to exercise restraints while things are put in place to offer them quality services.
