The blunt talking National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya constituency, Michael Teye Nyaunu condemned his colleague MP for Assin North MP, Kennedy Agyapong for his inciting statements that had the potential of destabilizing the country.
He said the unfortunate comments by the lawmaker were so unpleasant and must not countenance by any Ghanaian and urged Hon. Kennedy Agyapong to apologize unreservedly.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong was released on Thursday on a bail of 400,000 Ghana cedis after spending three nights in BNI cells.
He is reported to have incited Ashantis against Ewes and Gas in an interview with his own radio station Oman FM and was charged with treason felony and acts of terrorism.
The legislator while addressing teeming supporters of the NPP at the party head quarters after his release on Thursday denied making such statements saying he has no hatred for any Ewes as four of his children are Ewes.
However speaking on Citi FM Friday, Hon. Teye Nyaunu stated that Kennedy Agyapong has over night become a hero for the NPP after his party leaders managed to get him released on bail, commending the NPP for their brave support showed to the embattled MP.
“They [NPP] have made him a hero. The NPP are very good in turning things in their favour. The NPP know that what he said is not good but they been able to get him out of trouble.
Hon. Teye Nyaunu also called for the arrest of the NPP Parliamentary candidate for Adenta Frances Assiam who he described as a good friend for her provocative comments on Oman FM on the night of the arrest of Kennedy Agyepong.
“Her comments were bad, insulting several people including the IGP. She called on party supporters from other regions to come to Accra to throw their support behind Kennedy Agyapong. she was emotionally crazy calling and out of control that night’’ he said.
