The Member of Parliament for Wenchi Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Seidu Haruna, has boosted the operations of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in Wenchi with the donation of two brand new 50-horse power Apsonic motorbikes. He was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Gloria Opoku Gyamfi, during a brief ceremony to hand over the equipment.

Hon. Haruna reaffirmed his commitment to retooling and equipping security agencies, stressing that effective logistics are crucial for the Fire Service to discharge its mandate efficiently. He explained that the motorbikes will complement the Fire Tender, enabling swift response to distress calls and enhancing fire safety education across the municipality.

The Wenchi Municipal Deputy Commander, Mr. Isaac Oppong, received the motorbikes on behalf of the GNFS and expressed heartfelt appreciation to the MP and MCE. He described the gesture as a major motivation for the Service, noting that the support would significantly improve their ability to respond to emergencies and enforce fire prevention measures.

The donation underscores the MP’s dedication to strengthening public safety infrastructure and ensuring that frontline agencies are adequately equipped to protect lives and property in Wenchi.
