The Minister for Communications, Ursula Owusu has assured of her outfits commitment towards empowering the girl-child with the requisite Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) skills to enable them become competitive.
She challenged girls to be steadfast in their studies and all endeavors to become relevant and effective participants in national activities.
Speaking to www.ghanamps.com in an interview, the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West also called for legislation on an affirmative action law to give women more opportunity in the law making process.
The Minister urged the need for more women representatives in Parliament to help advance the course of women.
The advantages for empowering women and the girl-child she said are numerous.
Other laws the MP urged the urgent need for consideration include Intestate Succession law, Spousal rights law among others.
