Individuals with First Class and Masters Degrees would be engaged as research assistants for members of parliament in July.
According to the Majority Chief Whip Kwasi Ameyaw Kyeremeh, leadership had met on the matter and given a go ahead for MPs who have presented candidates as research assistant, who have met the critical to be engaged.
Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Governor Kwame Agbodza raised the issue for the second time on the floor of the House and expressed worry over the delay.
Whiles some MPs are in favor of research assistant having First Class and Master’s degree, others have kicked against the move.
In an early interview, MP for Ashaiman, Henry Ernest Norgbey has indicated his support for the criteria given by leadership of the House, whiles MP for Lambussie Dery Kaale-Ewola disagree with the move.
The Lambussie legislator further added that MPs would need their research assistant to carry out some political activities for them and should not be necessarily a holder of a masters and a first class
