First Deputy Minority whip and Member of Parliament for Banda, Ahmed Ibrahim has revealed that legislators from both side of the House cannot go to their constituencies even though there are serious issues to be addressed.
According to the Banda lawmaker MPs are seriously bleeding within adding that government has not been able to pay the last quarter of common fund.
As to whether we going to see the Minority side boycotting the recall by the Speaker Professor Aaron Michael Oquaye, he responded in an interview that it is a matter of dialogue and the leadership of the House needs to meet.
“We should not be insulated from the sufferings of the MPs, the fact that you are a leader of the House, a Minister and you have all you need should not insulate you from the suffering of the others”, he lamented.
Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim noted that when the time comes and they go to the Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu’s constituency and talk for him he will be voted, whether he goes to the constituency or not.
“What about those at the back bench, they need to go and interact with the grassroots, you do not always call them for extended sitting, recall and you do not give people the chance to go to their constituencies to interact. Do you care about the people recapturing their seats?”
He further added that this is what we are talking about, and not a matter about making laws, he lamented.
